When the cold weather arrives, some recipes just come back around. This Grano Pampa lentil stew with meat is one of those dishes that never fails: hearty, flavorful, and comforting.
Made with simple ingredients and cooked slowly, it's the kind of stew that fills the house with aroma and brings everyone together around the table. The lentils add body and texture, while the meat adds flavor, making this dish a complete meal.

Ingredients
1 cup of Pampa Grano lentils
200g of lean meat (roast beef, rump or similar)
1 medium onion
1 carrot
½ red bell pepper
1 large potato
1 large sweet potato
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 cup of crushed tomatoes
3 cups of broth or water
Salt and pepper to taste
Oregano, paprika, bay leaf, and cumin
Preparation
1. Prepare the ingredients
Cut the meat into small cubes. Chop the onion, carrot, and bell pepper. Peel and dice the potato and sweet potato.
2. Sear the meat
In a large pot, heat the olive oil and brown the meat for a few minutes until it's seared on the outside. This step adds a lot of flavor to the stew.
3. Make the base
Add the onion, bell pepper, and carrot. Cook for about 5 minutes until soft and fragrant.
4. Incorporate the rest
Add the crushed tomatoes, cooked lentils, and broth or hot water. Season with salt, pepper, and any spices you prefer.
5. Cooking
Let it cook over medium heat for 25 to 30 minutes. Halfway through cooking, add the potato and sweet potato. The stew should be thick and well combined.
6. Serve
Serve it piping hot, freshly made. Pair it with something delicious. with some nice warm bread… and you don't need anything else.
Helpful tip for the recipe: If you want a creamier texture, you can mash the potatoes and sweet potatoes a little at the end of cooking.
