Ingredients
1 cup dried Grano Pampa lentils (soaked overnight)
1 cup water
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
Oil for greasing
Instructions
1. Soak the lentils
Place the lentils in plenty of water and soak overnight.
This helps soften them and improves the final texture.
2. Blend
Drain the lentils and place them in a blender with the water, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and nutritional yeast.
Blend until completely smooth.
3. Cook the mixture
Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and cook over medium-high heat.
Stir continuously for about 8 minutes until thick and creamy.
Helpful tip: keep stirring to prevent lumps and sticking.
4. Shape
Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased glass or ceramic dish.
Smooth the surface with a spatula.
5. Chill
Refrigerate for at least 24 hours until firm.
Longer chilling will result in a firmer texture.
6. Slice and serve
Remove from the mold and cut into cubes or slices.
Serve as is or lightly pan-fry with a splash of soy sauce for a crisp exterior.
Perfect for salads, bowls, toast, and snack boards.
And that's it! Your vegan lentil cheese is ready to enjoy.
